Why it matters

Five people have received eGenesis gene edited pig kidneys under Expanded Access since March 2024, and one passed nine months off dialysis. The FDA cleared a 33 patient Phase 1/2/3 trial called RESTORE, which the company expects to start in the first quarter of 2027.
